Dr. Jean Arlyn Banez Reed was born and raised in the Philippines. She graduated with her medical degree in 1999 at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, one of the best medical schools in the country. The pursuit of her medical career was halted when she came to the US in 2001 and took care of her ill mother. Putting her career on hold, Dr. Reed believed that someday she would be able to pursue her profession. Eventually, she entered internship in July 2006 at Jersey City Medical Center, an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed her Pediatric Residency at University of Florida (Gainesville, Florida) in 2009. Thereafter, she became a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is happily married to her loving and supportive husband and they have their beautiful son Lorenzo.
